Israel a Sign for Our times

In this video, Richard introduces a short article, which forms the basis of a paper that he is considering writing over the coming months, addressing the question as to whether fulfilled prophecy can be used as an apologetics tool. Fulfilment of prophecy has its place in the Biblical narrative, particularly in relation to Jesus and his references to prophecies about himself as Messiah. In terms of present day fulfilment of prophecy, the matter of the restoration of the state of Israel, stands out as being of key importance. Within both the Old and New Testaments, we see may prophectic references to the idea that the nation of Israel will be restored in the last days. Richard suggests here, that perhaps it is God's intention that Israel is to become a sign to the nations, both that He exists and that He is coming again soon.
