The Moral Law

[Posted on: 11 June 2025 by Richard Worsley]

The Moral Law

In this video and article, Richard makes a comparison between a secular foundation for the moral law with a more biblical one, suggesting that with the evidence for Christianity now so overwhelming, it would be wise to base our concept of morality on God’s knowledge of what is good and evil rather than our very imperfect understanding.

Protected Characteristics

Protected Characteristics (2010 Legislation)

In this video and article, Richard discusses the Protected Characteristics legislation of 2010, which sought to deal with issues of equality and discrimination. The suggestion is made that this was too general in its application, without dealing in enough detail with the detailed issues concerning each individual characteristic.

Psalm 2 and the Academic Community

Psalm 2 and the Academic Community

In this video and article, Richard uses Psalm 2 as an apt description of the state of the world today. He challenges society, and in particular the academic community, to consider the evidence for God, which now clearly exists in great abundance. People have the choice to reject it and face judgement, to to accept it and be received by God.

Human Fossils

Human Fossils

In this video, Richard introduces an article about human evolution in relation to fossil evidence. Over the years, evolutionists have failed to establish any evidence for ancestoral links between humans and apes, and yet in spite of this, continue to operate on the assumption that such a process had to be so. In reality, all relevant fossils can clearly be defined as belonging to either apes or humans, leaving us faced with clear evidence supporting the idea that human beings were a special and separate creation.

God’s Protein Pump

[Posted on: 25 May 2025 by Richard Worsley]

God’s Protein Pump

This post is named after the associated article from the Institute for Creation Research. We now know that the cell is a highly complex piece of machinery, and textbooks describing cellular anatomy are now well in excess of 1400 pages. This complexity is still not fully understood, as more continues to be discovered. Much of the machinery is driven by proteins, which are themselves highly complex and highly organised molecular structures. The Apostle Paul stated that we are without excuse with all the visible evidence for creation, and this could not be more true than in recent decades, as major discoveries have been made in the field of molecular biology.

Greenland Ice Cores

Greenland Ice Cores – Evidence for the Flood

In this video, Richard introduces an atricle about research that has been carried out on ice cores in Greenland. As a result of drilling down into two cores only 28km apart, it has been found that the layers of sediment are very different between the two, which does not fit in with the idea of gradual deposition over a long period of time. The observation is far more consistent with the idea of a worldwide flood and the stormy conditions that would have prevailed in the subsequent period.

The Historicist Interpretation of the Book of Revelation

[Posted on: 23 May 2025 by Richard Worsley]

The Historicist Interpretation of the Book of Revelation

There exist four standard interpretations of the Book of Revelation:

  1. The Preterist Interpretation, in which the prophecies were fulfilled within a few decades of New Testament times.
  2. The Historicist Interpretation, in which the prophecies were fullfilled over the centuries/millenia that followed. This was the generally accepted interpretation from the time of the Reformation up to about 1850.
  3. The Futurist Interpretation, in which the prophecies relate to a future period of seven years immediately before the Second Coming. This became the more widely accepted interpretation after about 1850.
  4. The Idealist Interpretation, which sees it as a general pattern of good over evil, rather than a specific set of prophecies with literal fulfilment.

Because prophecy can have multiple fulfilment, the various interpretations are not necessarily mutually exclusive. In this video and article, Richard looks more closely at the details of the Historicist Interpretation.

DNA Detangling Motors

[Posted on: 22 May 2025 by Richard Worsley]

DNA Detangling Motors

This video and the related article look at the subject of the DNA detangling mechanism. DNA is an extremely long molecule, with two twisted strands intertwined. A DNA molecule is replicated by a process in which the two strands are unwound, and a matching strand built upon each of the two components. Because of the tightly twisted nature of a DNA molecule, this would not be possible without some sort of mechanism to protect the strands against getting tangled up during the process. The mechanism needed to carry this out effectively is extremely complex, and can only be the work of an intelligent designer.

The Origin of Amber

[Posted on: 21 May 2025 by Richard Worsley]

The Origin of Amber

In this video, Richard introduces an atricle about the origin of amber. Many examples have been found in which insects and other small creatures have been trapped in their original forms inside stones of amber, and this creates a major problem for long age evolutionary theory. On the other hand, such formations can be well explained in terms of the Flood, during which trees will have been uprooted, with the trauma causing resin to seep out. Small creatures would have taken refuge in the log mats that formed on the surface of the flood waters, some getting trapped in the resin before it solidified to form amber as we know it.

But God – a Second Reformation?

[Posted on: 20 May 2025 by Richard Worsley]

But God – a Second Reformation?

This is based on a recent talk given by Richard to the congregation at Longcroft. It is in some respects a follow-on from the earlier post But God, likewise going through the six “But God …” quotes from the Gospels, and then asking the question as to whether God is able to do a new major work in the present era.

The ‘Watch (1)’ link is to the YouTube video in which Richard introduces the subject; the ‘Watch (2)’ link is to the actual talk at Longcroft (46 mins). The ‘Read’ link is to a copy of the slideshow.

N.B. During the recording at Longcroft, some of the slides were skipped too quickly to be read while the talk was given, so you will need to refer to the written copy of the slideshow for all the information.

(Image: The significance of this will become apparent from the talk and relates to slides 18 & 19)
