Some Reflections on the 2023 Coronation

In this video and article, Richard shares his thoughts on the Coronation of King Charles III in 2023. Somewhat to his surprise, this coronation took the same form as all preceding ones, in spite of the way that our nation has moved in recent times. A coronation is essentially a covenant between the Monarch, on behalf of the nation, and God. If we have made such a covenenant with God, then He will expect much of us, for which reason we need to pray all the more earnestly for our nation.

Dinosaurs and the Days of Noah

Dinosaurs and the Days of Noah

In this video, Richard returns once again to the matter of soft tissue in dinosaur fossils. The associated article addresses some of the objections that have been raised against creationists on this particular issue. The simple fact remains that soft tissue cannot be preserved for millions of years, and that any arguments reconciling these findings to a long age evolutionary model are simply not tenable. It is almost as if God is shouting to us to sit up and pay attention. Let us not forget that the Flood was an act of God's judgement upon mankind, and that we are told of a coming judgement upon the world, this time by fire.

The Rise of Atheism in the UK

The Rise of Atheism in the UK

In this video, Richard introduces an article from Prophecy Today, which reflects on the subject of the rise of atheism in the UK and western society. One key observation is in the fact that children tend to follow their parents, so if the parents do not live out a life showing the need for faith, then the children are more likely to become non-believers. Another interesting statistic that comes out concerns the role of fathers. If the father of a household engages in religious activities and lives a life of faith, then there is a high probability that the whole household will follow in coming to faith. Whilst it is true that every individual needs to come to their own decision in life, we can nevertheless see the great importance of the role of the family.

More Evidence Against Junk DNA

More Evidence Against Junk DNA

In this video, Richard introduces a recent article by Jeffrey Tomkins about long non-coding RNA. Without being over-technical, it suffices to say that long non-coding RNA is a part of the genetic code that was previously believed to be 'junk', i.e. a leftover from our evolutionary past. Recent research has however shown that this is not the case and that this part of the genetic code does in fact perform a userful function, and this has even been recognised within biomedical research, the chief aim of which is in the promotion of health and prevention of disease. We are grateful that we can learn so much more about the complexity of the function of the genetic code, which must inevitably lead us to give the glory to God, the master creator and designer of all things.

Seattle and Vancouver - a Spiritual Reflection

Seattle and Vancouver - a Spiritual Reflection

In this video and article, Richard reflects upon a recent visit to the cities of Seattle and Vancouver. Although they are both very beautiful and prosperous, and were founded by societies that were essentially Christian, Richard comments on how one can now see a completely different god at work in such places. This can perhaps be compared to the words of Jesus that the last days would be like the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, and considering there is so much evidence that we are now living in the last days, how much greater the urgency that we should be praying for our nations.

Why 99% of PhDs Reject Creation

Why 99% of PhDs Reject Creation

According to statistics 99% of PhDs reject creation and believe evolution. This video and the associated article attempt to examine the real reason why this is the case. The vast majority of people who have been through university believe in evolution, basically because that is what they have been taught. The vast majority of educational establishments teach evolution, not because they have looked at evidence and come to a logical conclusion, but rather because the system within society has constrained it to be so. This can be likened to the situation that would have existed prior to the Reformation, namely that most people would have believed in salvation by works, because this is what the system within that day dictated. Oh that we might experience something of a Second Reformation!

Daily Listening to Hymns

Daily Listening to Hymns

In this video, Richard introduces an article of his own, the aim of which is to provide a link to listen to a different hymn for each and every day of the year. As this blog post goes to press, the compilation is still a work in progress with a few gaps yet to be filled, but is the majority of the way towards completion.

We live in an age where older hymns are largely ignored in many evangelical/charismatic circles, and Richard encourages us not to forget the old hymns, as they are a great heritage of what God has done in the Church and in the lives of individual believers.

Need for Holiness

Need for Holiness

In this article, Richard talks about the need for holiness, both in the Church and on the part of individual believers. There is much evidence to suggest that we are living in the last days, and this being the case, makes the need for holiness all the more urgent. Holiness is something that is imparted to us as part of our salvation, but having said that, we need to actively maintain it in our daily lives, particularly as we are living in an age of much ungodliness and temptation.

Arguments Against Genetic Entropy

Arguments Against Genetic Entropy

In this video, Richard introduces an article about genetic entropy, an idea pioneered by Prof. John Sanford. All designed/created things decay with the passage of time, and the genetic code is no exception. Although evolutionists would claim that anything can happen given enough time, millions of years would totally destroy the genetic code. Time is evolution's enemy, not its friend. Arguments have been put forward to oppose the concept of genetic entropy, yet all of these have proved themselves to be unworkable. We can therefore have confidence in Professor Sanford's work, through which we can see that evolution has got to be false, and which therefore means that the Bible can be trusted.

Bible Commentaries and Eschatological Prophecies

Bible Commentaries and Eschatological Prophecies

You may wish to refer back to The Historicist Interpretation of the Book of Revelation for some background information. In this video, Richard talks about how the mainstream view shifted from the historicist interpretation to the futurist interpretation in the 19th Century, and how Bible commentaries over the centuries reflect this. Whilst acknowledging the complexities involved in the interpretation of prophecy, Richard tends to lean towards a favourable view of the historicist interpretation, saying that if this is right, then we can argue that there are not many prophecies left to be fulfilled, thus raising the sense of urgency that we are living in the last days.
