Plausibility of the Flood

Plausibility of the Flood

This video refers to an article that reports on a mathematical and scientific analysis of the geological processes that would have been associated with a global flood, and it demontrates something of the thoroughness of research carried out by the creation societies. Whilst this article is very detailed and would make very heavy reading for many, Richard goes on to talk about some of the implications involved. In the creation/evolution debate, a person's thinking will often be based on the premise as to whether or not there is a god, and sadly much of our modern day culture is now founded upon an atheistic worldview. But what about the evidence we see? The case for the existence of God demands serious consideration.

Eschatology - the doctrine of the end times

In this video, Richard talks about the variety of intrepretations that exist on this subject, particularly in relation to the Book of Revelation. It is a complex subject from which we cannot draw clear cut conclusions; an open mind is the best approach, as we need to remain open to what God is saying and doing.

More evidence for Complexity

More evidence for the complexity and ingenuity of life

This video and the associated article look at the way in which our present day knowledge of the complexity of biological systems has broken way past the barriers of what was understood when evolutionary theory was first popularised in the 19th Century. We have more evidence than ever before before that biology is best explained in terms of intelligent design rather than Darwinian evolution. Added to that, we have got to admit that even now, we are far from understanding everything, and that there is yet much more to be discovered.

Assessing Miracles

Assessing Miracles

In this video and the associated article, Richard addresses the issue of assessing/weighing miracles. We are faced with an abundance of modern miracles providing clear evidence for the existence and work of God, and yet at the same time there are false teachers who are performing miracles by the work of Satan. We need to be equipped to be able to make correct and proper discernment when faced with this situations.

Passive Margins

Passive Margins - Evidence for a Worldwide Flood

In this video, Richard introduces an article by Michael Oard on the subject of passive margins, a term given to the gently sloping areas of seabed that exist around much of the world's continental coastline. These are the norm other than in areas where plate tectonics (causing proneness to earthquakes) are active. The formation of these passive margins is best explained by the water runoff that would have occurred as the new deep ocean basins were formed in the end stages of the Flood. This is far better than any effort to try and explain things in terms of a long age earth history.

Last Days - More Issues

In this video, Richard introduces a short article of his own, in which he lists some of the major issues facing the world today, along with some thoughts on how we as the Church should be responding.

DNA in Ancient Bacteria

DNA in ancient Bacteria

In this video, Richard introduces an article which reports on the findings of DNA from bacteria in salt crystals, dated at 250 million years by conventional methods. It should be noted however that:

  1. The DNA is well preserved, which could not be the case given many millions of years.
  2. The DNA is remarkably similar to that is present day bacteria, which again could not be the case, given the number of mutations that would have occurred over millions of years.

This is yet further evidence in favour of a young earth.

Clues from Creation Week

Clues from Creation Week

In this video, Richard introduces an article by Dr Andrew Snelling, which discusses the existence of distinct layers of rock on the earth. It is possible to define four main layers, namely (1) from the original creation week, (2) post-creation but pre-flood, (3) from the Flood and (4) post-flood. The flood layer is distinctly different from the others, particularly with respect to the presence of fossils. Whilst there is still much to be learnt in this area, we can nevertheless see this as yet more evidence in favour of a worldwide global flood.

Interfaces Between Organsims

Interfaces between separate organisms require design

This video and the associated article talk about working interfaces between different organisms (known in biology as symbiosis). Richard mentions fungus on tree roots as one example, though there are many other cases in the living world. The key point that is being made, is that for two different living things to interact physically in a beneficial way, the interface on each one must be fully compatible with the other, which has surely got to be due to intelligent design. He compares it to a spacecraft docking with a space station, something that requires complex and precise engineering design.

The Second Coming

The Second Coming - what Jesus has to say

In this video, Richard introduces an article of his own in which he has listed various references made by Jesus to the Second Coming. Jesus mentions this subject a great deal in the four Gospels, which can only mean that He attached a lot of importance to it. With modern trends such as increasing prosperity, moral decline and spiritual apathy, the most important thing about the Second Coming is that we are ready. This is especially true for us in the prosperous West, more so than for others in the world, particulary in places where the Church is persecuted.
