Gene Complexity Showcases Engineered Versitilty

In this video, Richard introduces a recent article by Jeffrey Tomkins about the complexity of the genetic code. Advances in molecular biology in recent years have gradually taken us further and further from the original simplistic view of Darwinian evolution. As we see the revealing of ever increasing complexity in biological systems, we cannot help but to see an ever increasing case for intelligent design.

The Grand Canyon

This post follows on from a previous post The Best Arguments Against a Young Earth and refers to the same article. In this video, Richard takes a slightly different approach. Stairway to Life

The article referred to by this video is a review of the book 'The Stairway to Life' by Change Laura Tan and Rob Stadler. The book highlights a series of steps (twelve in all) which are necessary to bring about life as we know it, and that all the steps must be proven as being possible by evolution, if evolution is to be true. All twelve steps fail in this respect, and yet in spite of overwhelming evidence against it, the Theory of Evolution is still accepted as normal thinking.

Historicy of the Bible

In this video and article, Richard discusses some of the theories being put forward by modern scholars about the historical origins of the various books of the Bibles. Many of these theories are complex and not sufficiently grounded in firm evidence for us to simply be throwing away 1800 years of church tradition.

Mount St Helens

In this video, Richard introduces an article about the eruption of Mount St Helens in 1980. One of the amazing findings of this event is in the fact that substantial geological changes can occur within a very short period of time when a major catastrophe takes place. This is perfectly in keeping with the idea of a recent global flood as recorded in the Bible.

The Church's attitude to Miracles throughout History

Miracles and the Second Coming

In the Bible, we see two significant times when miracles occurred in abundance, namely (1) the Exodus and wilderness and (2) the ministry of Jesus. Since the time of the New Testament, miracles went generally quiet during church history, until the last 120 years or so, during which they have undergone a massive revival. In this video, Richard basically asks the question as to what we are to make of this, if anything. In the Bible, we see the outpouring of mircales in the introduction of old and new covenants. Is the latest revival likewise significant, maybe in paving the way towards the Second Coming?
