Stairway to Life

Stairway to Life

The article referred to by this video is a review of the book ‘The Stairway to Life’ by Change Laura Tan and Rob Stadler. The book highlights a series of steps (twelve in all) which are necessary to bring about life as we know it, and that all the steps must be proven as being possible by evolution, if evolution is to be true. All twelve steps fail in this respect, and yet in spite of overwhelming evidence against it, the Theory of Evolution is still accepted as normal thinking.

Historicity of the Bible

[Posted on: 17 January 2025 by Richard Worsley]

Historicy of the Bible

In this video and article, Richard discusses some of the theories being put forward by modern scholars about the historical origins of the various books of the Bibles. Many of these theories are complex and not sufficiently grounded in firm evidence for us to simply be throwing away 1800 years of church tradition.

Mount St Helens

Mount St Helens

In this video, Richard introduces an article about the eruption of Mount St Helens in 1980. One of the amazing findings of this event is in the fact that substantial geological changes can occur within a very short period of time when a major catastrophe takes place. This is perfectly in keeping with the idea of a recent global flood as recorded in the Bible.

Modern Catechism

In this video, Richard discusses the value of having a catechism for today to give us some structure to what we believe. He refers to an article of his own, in which he has attempted to present the matter as a series of questions and answers, making reference to two well known modern evangelical statements of faith.

Mendel’s Accountant

This post follows on from an earlier post Genetic Entropy and actually links to the same article. In this video, Richard approaches the subject from a slightly different angle, making both videos worth listening to.

The Church’s Attitude to Miracles

[Posted on: 08 January 2025 by Richard Worsley]

The Church’s attitude to Miracles throughout History

In this video, Richard talks about the role of miracles throughout church history. Although miracles were comparitively rare until the last 120 years or so, the role of miracles in upholding the validity of the Bible was nevertheless considered as being a matter of importance.

Miracles and the Second Coming

[Posted on: 07 January 2025 by Richard Worsley]

Miracles and the Second Coming

In the Bible, we see two significant times when miracles occurred in abundance, namely (1) the Exodus and wilderness and (2) the ministry of Jesus. Since the time of the New Testament, miracles went generally quiet during church history, until the last 120 years or so, during which they have undergone a massive revival. In this video, Richard basically asks the question as to what we are to make of this, if anything. In the Bible, we see the outpouring of mircales in the introduction of old and new covenants. Is the latest revival likewise significant, maybe in paving the way towards the Second Coming?

Plausibility of the Flood

[Posted on: 06 January 2025 by Richard Worsley]

Plausibility of the Flood

This video refers to an article that reports on a mathematical and scientific analysis of the geological processes that would have been associated with a global flood, and it demontrates something of the thoroughness of research carried out by the creation societies. Whilst this article is very detailed and would make very heavy reading for many, Richard goes on to talk about some of the implications involved. In the creation/evolution debate, a person’s thinking will often be based on the premise as to whether or not there is a god, and sadly much of our modern day culture is now founded upon an atheistic worldview. But what about the evidence we see? The case for the existence of God demands serious consideration.

Eschatology

Eschatology – the doctrine of the end times

In this video, Richard talks about the variety of intrepretations that exist on this subject, particularly in relation to the Book of Revelation. It is a complex subject from which we cannot draw clear cut conclusions; an open mind is the best approach, as we need to remain open to what God is saying and doing.

More evidence for Complexity

[Posted on: 04 January 2025 by Richard Worsley]

More evidence for the complexity and ingenuity of life

This video and the associated article look at the way in which our present day knowledge of the complexity of biological systems has broken way past the barriers of what was understood when evolutionary theory was first popularised in the 19th Century. We have more evidence than ever before before that biology is best explained in terms of intelligent design rather than Darwinian evolution. Added to that, we have got to admit that even now, we are far from understanding everything, and that there is yet much more to be discovered.
