Romans 1:20

In this video and article, Richard talks about the challenge of Romans 1 verse 20, which says that we are without excuse in the light of evidence for creation in the things that are seen. Whilst this includes the evidence for intelligent design, there is also the matter of causes. We know intuitively that every effect must have a cause. If this is the case, then all effects and causes must be traceble back to an ultimate cause, and the latter has got to be something eternal (i.e. outside the framework of time and space as we know it). Furthermore, such a cause has got to to be personal (i.e. with personality) in order to want to create.

Practical Implications of a Second Reformation

In this video, Richard refers to the idea of a 2nd Reformation, which he has mentioned previously on a number of occasions. This time, he states the fact that such an event could only happen as a result of a truly mighty work of God, but then goes on to talk about some of the practical implications that may arise as a result, affecting the way we live as Christians. The topics covered here come under three main headings:-

  • A re-embracing of the doctrine of holiness.
  • A clear statement of what we believe.
  • A re-appreciation of the value of some of the old hymns.

Do we need a modern liturgy?

Do we need a modern liturgy?

In this video, Richard freeky admits that he is not advocating a return to liturgical forms of worship. Having said that however, he points out that one of the values of liturgy is that it has reminded people of the fundamentals of what we believe as Christians. Whatever our style of worship, it is of paramount importance that in our lives, we are totally clear about what we believe.

The BBC and the Challenge of Psalm 2

In this video and article, Richard continues with the challenge of Psalm 2, now taking up the matter of the BBC, having preached on a number of occasions outside the BBC Headquarters in London. If the BBC prides itself in upholding truth and professionalism, then the challenge is that it should take a serious look at the evidence for the following, in all cases backed up by research and work on the part of experts:

  • Modern miracles.
  • Intelligen design.
  • Genetic entropy.
  • Soft tissues in Fossils, especially dionsaurs.

Psalm 2 and our Government

This is another video and article which Richard has based upon the theme of Psalm 2.

He starts by mentioning the various lines of evidence that lead us increasingly to see that the Bible is a true revelation of God, including the matters of soft tissues in fossils, the complexity of DNA plus that of modern mircales. He then goes on to say that this should act as a challenge to the Government of our nation to seriously consider these things, and to return to the Christian heritage that once was ours.

The Practicalities of Holiness

The Practicalities of Holiness

In this video and article, Richard talks about the subject of holiness. There are two aspects of this, namely:

  • Imputed holiness, which we have as part of our birthright.
  • Imparted holiness, which is the process by which God's laws are written on our hearts.

In previous revivals and moves of the Spirit, much emphasis was placed on holiness, but in today's world with all its temptation, maintaining holiness can be a challenge. Richard goes on to discuss some of the practical things that can help us in this respect.

Two Apostasies?

Two Apostasies?

In this video and article, Richard discusses the idea of two apostasies. In the New Testament, much was said about a future falling away. As we look at history, we can see this effectively as two processes:

  • A religious falling away, which ultimately culminated in the Reformation
  • A secular falling away in the post-Reformation years, which has come about with the rise in materialism and the resulting rejection of God.

In order to survive this second apostasy, we are encouraged to practice the art of holiness.

Origin of the Universe, the Earth & Life

Origin of the Universe, the Earth & Life

In this video, Richard introduces a brief article which addresses and summarises some of the main ways in which we can argue in favour of a biblical explanation for the origin of the universe, the earth and life. Points covered include:

  • The origin of the universe itself is beyond scientific reasoning, as we just don't have the necessry knowledge.
  • There is clear evidence that the earth is young, particularly when we look at the matter of soft tissue in fossils.
  • Life is extremely complex and as such has to be the work of intelligent design.
  • In the natural world, things tend to decay over time, which goes completely against the idea of long age evolution.
  • Modern miracles provide powerful evidence that the Bible is a true revelation of God.

Psalm 2 and the Academic Community

Psalm 2 and the Academic Community

In this video and article, Richard uses Psalm 2 as an apt description of the state of the world today. He challenges society, and in particular the academic community, to consider the evidence for God, which now clearly exists in great abundance. People have the choice to reject it and face judgement, to to accept it and be received by God.
